The Friendly Church of the Apostolic Faith, Inc. celebrates its 80 th anniversary this year, and we are very grateful that your support has helped us reach this historic milestone. It has been our privilege for more than 80 years to have served in fellowship, helping individuals and families in the New York communities draw near to Christ through commitment, dedication, and devotion. From the beginning we have set out to lead the lost to the cross, making the weak strong, and to becoming living epistles. After 80 years we continue to serve the same community by instituting new initiatives and continuing to work on old ones. Your may be interested in knowing that since 1927 we have work hard in our effort of saving souls for the cause of Christ; we have been a leading force in community outreach by providing food and shelter for the needy, tutoring and other educational service for the undereducated and under employed, and spiritual restoration for dying souls. The record will show that we have assisted hundreds of students with financial assistance for academic achievement. In 1991 we experienced a fire which delayed the physical vision and the growth of the church. However, after 17 years of exile from the community in which we have served for 80 years, The Friendly Church of the Apostolic Faith returned home on Mothers Day 2006. Since accomplishing what some said would be impossible we have thrived once again and are quickly becoming a leading force in the Jamaica, New York communities; by this return we have reaffirmed our community mission of the church: to provide a powerful outreach and opportunity for all who commit to the teaching and leading of Jesus Christ. The year was 1927, in Jamaica, Queens, New York, on the boarder line of a thriving farming community, where the idea was born for a life giving ministry that would become known a “Friendly” A Ministry that provided hope in a difficult time. EIGHTY YEARS OF COMMITMENT DEDICATION AND DEVOTION. In the early years of ministry Friendly provided hope for a community of believers at a time when it was not popular to be Pentecostal or “sanctified,” this commitment shaped the destiny of the church and has given it a unique identity. By the grace of God, we have celebrated 80 years of outreach and dedication, which includes doing the right thing, building community relations and providing hope. As a result the idea which took shape so long ago, “Friendly” has grown into a church with one vision and one voice. A community centered ministry with a holistic approach to kingdom principles, proving that Christianity is a lifestyle, justifiable by faith and identifiable by character.
